Every decent disk cloning tool for Windows now hides behind a paywall.
KrispyClone is the answer — a fast, no-nonsense disk cloner that costs
exactly $0 and always will.
No installer. No setup. Just run it as Administrator.
These tools used to be free. Then one day they weren't.
Scans the NTFS volume bitmap and only copies sectors that are actually in use. Cloning a 2 TB drive that's 10% full? It takes 10% of the time.
A single 70 KB .exe file. No .NET SDK to install, no Visual C++ runtimes, no setup wizard. Uses only APIs built into Windows.
Upgrading to a bigger drive? KrispyClone automatically extends your last partition to fill all the extra space — no manual steps needed.
Requires UAC elevation, shows a named confirmation dialog before writing a single byte, and blocks cloning if the target is smaller than the source.
Reads and writes in parallel using a two-slot ping-pong buffer. Your CPU is never waiting — one buffer fills while the other drains.
MIT licensed. Fork it, audit it, improve it. The source code is on GitHub and will never be locked away behind a paywall.
Download KrispyClone.exe. Right-click it and choose Run as administrator (required for raw disk access). Windows UAC will prompt — click Yes.
Select the disk you want to clone from, then the disk you want to clone to. KrispyClone shows you the size, model, and any extra space on the target.
Confirm the prompt, sit back, and watch the progress bar. When it's done, swap in your new drive and boot straight to Windows — no re-installation needed.
KrispyClone is free forever — no subscriptions, no tricks. If it saved you cash, a coffee goes a long way.
